Virginia State Police seize $1.1M in narcotics, 11 firearms, one explosive device

Virginia State Police have had a busy few weeks with the seizure of narcotics, investigations into human trafficking and child exploitation and a homicide case.

From Jan. 31 to Feb. 20, Virginia State Police, in partnership with supporting federal and local agencies, seized more than $1.1 million in narcotics.

Firearms

  • A total of 11 firearms were recovered valued at $8,000.

Narcotics

Total seized narcotics amounted to 28.11 pounds, along with 19,200 controlled substance pills.

The denied revenue from the seized narcotics is valued at $1,124,999.

Breakdown of narcotics recovered:

  • Cocaine: Nine pounds
  • Marijuana: Eight pounds
  • Heroin: 38.18 ounces
  • Methamphetamine: 8.15 pounds
  • Fentanyl pills: 19,100
  • Percocet pills: 100

Explosive devices

One explosive device was safely seized and neutralized.

Stolen vehicles

Four stolen vehicles were successfully recovered.

31 new human trafficking tips received

Investigations conducted:

  • Cases investigated or currently under investigation: 185
  • Individual investigative activities: 2,548

Homicide

State Police initiated an investigation into one homicide case during the operation
