Gill_Anthony_13MVirginia senior Anthony Gill (High Point, N.C.) has been voted the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after leading the Cavaliers to a win over West Virginia at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

Gill posted season highs of 20 points and 12 rebounds for his fourth career double-double as Virginia downed the Mountaineers by a 70-54 score last Tuesday evening in the Jimmy V Classic. Gill went 9-of-11 from the field in reaching double figures for the ninth time in as many games this season. He is averaging 13.4 points and 6.4 rebounds for the No. 8 Cavaliers, who host No. 12 Villanova on Saturday (Dec. 19).

Joining Gill as a weekly honoree is Virginia Tech’s Kerry Blackshear Jr., who was selected the conference’s Rookie of the Week. ACC weekly honors are determined by a vote of a 15-member media panel.
