Virginia Beach Police shot and killed a man wielding a crowbar and a metal rod while responding to a domestic incident Saturday night.

According to the VBPD, officers had responded at 7:02 p.m. to a call in the 4100 block of White Beam Court related to a reported stabbing incident.

Marques Hasbrouck, 22, confronted officers at the scene, and ignored commands to drop the weapons, fought through a Taser, and charged at the officers, who responded with lethal force.

More than one officer discharged their firearms striking Hasbrouck, who died at the scene, according to police.

Three victims, not including Hasbrouck, were located inside the residence. One was deceased: Victoria Lane Hasbrouck, 58, of Virginia Beach. Two additional victims were located inside; both were transported to a local hospital where they are in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

There is no current information that there are additional suspects in this offense. There is not believed to be any ongoing threat to the community related to this incident.

All VBPD officers who discharged their firearms are uninjured and have been placed on routine administrative leave which is standard in these types of critical incidents.

The VBPD Homicide Unit is conducting a criminal investigation into this incident. Upon completion, all evidence will be turned over to the Virginia Beach Office of the Commonwealth Attorney, which will review for compliance with existing law.

In addition to the VBPD investigation, the OCA conducts their own parallel, independent criminal investigation. Upon conclusion of the criminal investigations, the VBPD Internal Affairs Unit will conduct an administrative review to determine compliance with department policy, procedure, and training.

This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information relating to this case is asked to contact the Virginia Beach Police Detective Bureau at 757-385-4101 or anonymously through Crime Solvers at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
