Virginia Beach child abducted on Friday, believed to be in extreme danger

A Virginia Beach child has been abducted and is believed to be in extreme danger, according to police.

Juan Sebastian Mejia Acevedo, 12, is described as an Hispanic male, black hair, brown eyes, 5 foot 8 inches tall and weighing 105 pounds. He has no scars, marks or tattoos.

The abducted child was last seen wearing blue pants, a red hoodie and black shoes.

Acevedo was last seen in the 200 block of Mica Avenue in Virginia Beach.

The child is believed to have been abducted by an unknown person.

Virginia State Police and the Virginia Missing Children Clearinghouse issued an AMBER Alert on behalf of the Virginia Beach City Police Department for an abduction that occurred on Friday at 9 a.m.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Virginia Beach City Police Department at 757-385-5000.
