Virginia basketball redshirt senior center Jack Salt (Auckland, New Zealand) has been named to the All-ACC Academic Team, the conference office announced on Friday.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
Salt, who has started 102 of 118 career games, is averaging 3.8 points and 4.0 rebounds per game this season for the Cavaliers. Salt scored a career-high 12 points and added seven rebounds in UVA’s win at then-No. 24 Maryland. He has tallied a season-high nine boards in two games. Salt aids in UVA’s top-ranked scoring defense, that allows just 54.1 points per game.
Salt earned his undergraduate degree in anthropology and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in educational psychology at the Curry School of Education.
