Trevor Cooney scored 18 points and Rakeem Christmas posted 17 points and 9 rebounds as Syracuse held on to a 19-point halftime lead to take down Virginia Tech 68-66 in Cassell Coliseum. Justin Bibbs scored a career-high 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Hokies second-half comeback effort. Virginia Tech had a shot to win at the buzzer but Malik Muller’s three-pointer from the corner fell short.
