Vehicle fire, fuel spill closes Barracks Road

policecar3Route 654 (Barracks Road) in Albemarle County is closed in both directions between the Route 250 Bypass and Route 656 (Georgetown Road) due to a tractor-trailer fire and diesel fuel spill.

The road is likely to remain closed for several hours while a hazardous materials crew cleans up the spill.

The site also has live traffic camera images for many major highways, including Interstate 64, I-66 and Routes 29 and 250 in Central Virginia. Motorists can call 511 from any telephone in Virginia for road and traffic conditions on all major highways in the state.
