A portion of Route 220 (Potomac River Road) in Highland County will close Monday, May 19, 2014 for an emergency pipe repair. The location is about 0.4 mile north of the southern intersection of Route 220 and Route 632 (The Pines Road).
Recent heavy rains damaged a pipe under the highway, and the Virginia Department of Transportation made temporary repairs on Friday. Crews plan to return onMonday to make permanent repairs, and Route 220 is expected to be closed for a few days. All work is weather permitting.
Drivers will follow a short detour on Route 632, which generally runs parallel to Route 220 for about 1.8 miles.
