The Richard Adams Variety Show will showcase two of the areas newest musical groups and a tribute to a musical legend.

Sarah Lynna and the Misfit Toys and Watercolours are two of the area newest bands.  Buddy Thomas will take the stage in “A Tribute to Doc Watson.”

The show will be presented at WTA’s Gateway at 329 West Main in Downtown Waynesboro at 7:30pm on Friday, June 8.

Sarah Lynna and the Misfit Toys is fronted by 17-year-old Sarah Lynna.  A native of Staunton, she was taken with the composing bug in February 2010 and has not slowed down since. Together with Emerson Michael and Travis Weaver, the band’s repertory includes Folk, Americana and Blues as well as original pieces by Sarah Lynna.

Watercolours is a group of high schoolers who play an eclectic mix of tight harmonies and fresh, clever arrangements. They were the surprise runner-up in the Mockingbird’s. All Star Countdown.

Also on the program will be Buddy Thomas’s personal tribute to the great guitarist Doc Watson. Thomas is a legend himself with his guitar playing and songwriting. His tribute to the late, great showman will be a highlight of the Variety Show.

Adding to the fun will be the First Annual Waynesboro Trivia Contest. Two contestants will face off in a battle to be first in answering five questions about Waynesboro.

Returning to the show will be the “You Can Sound Like a Cat” contest and the “You Can Be on a Talk Show.”

Sharing the duties with the host, Richard Adams, will be his side-kick Bill Martin who is running for President on the Coffee Tickets.  They will reveal more plans for the one-day-only, Presidential Campaign Event in Dooms, Virginia.

The Richard Adams Variety Show is sponsored by Valley Realty Estate Brokers, Inc.

Advance tickets for the Richard Adams Variety Show are $9.99 and are available online at www.wtagateway.com or by calling 540-943-9999.  Remaining tickets will be available at the box office on the night of performances.
