UVA Football: ‘Hoos kicking the tires on Missouri starting QB Beau Pribula?

Missouri starting QB Beau Pribula has pulled out of playing in the Gator Bowl to hit the transfer portal, and the UVA Football program is reportedly a top suitor.

The news about Pribula entering the portal just hit earlier today, but the word to me is that the pursuit is rather advanced.

Missouri, of course, is the team that is going to be on the other sideline at the Gator Bowl next week, making this story … awkward.

Pribula would be a grad transfer – he spent three years, including a redshirt year, at Penn State, backing up Drew Allar, before transferring to Mizzou in the 2024-2025 offseason.

He started 10 games at Missouri in 2025, completing 67.2 percent of his passes for 1,941 yards, 11 TDs and nine INTs, with 434 sack-adjusted yards on the ground – 244 yards on designed runs, 190 yards on scrambles.

The situation at QB for Virginia, looking ahead to 2026, is quite fluid.

Sources tell us that the current QB1, Chandler Morris, is seeking a seventh year of eligibility, citing injury issues that limited his snaps in the 2021 and 2022 seasons – Morris redshirted in his true-freshman year at Oklahoma.

From what we’re being told, the expectation around the program is that Morris has a good case to get a seventh year of eligibility.

Perhaps the pursuit of Beau Pribula is about insurance.

One other Mizzou transfer note

Two top receivers for Mizzou this season, Joshua Manning (29 catches/51 targets, 318 yards, two TDs) and Marquis Johnson (28 catches/47 targets, 340 yards, two TDs) have signaled their intent to enter the portal.

Neither will be participating in the Gator Bowl, per reports.
