The UVA football program announced today a two-game series with Indiana University for the 2017 and 2018 seasons. Indiana replaces Stanford on the Cavaliers’ schedule those seasons. A scheduling conflict led to the cancellation of the games between the Cardinal and UVA.
Virginia will host Indiana on Sept. 9, 2017 and travel to Bloomington on Sept. 8, 2018.
The schools most recently played during the 2009 and 2011 seasons. The Cavaliers won in Charlottesville, 47-7 in 2009 and prevailed in Bloomington, 34-31 in 2011.
UVA Football coach Tony Elliott said there are “a couple of ideas and potential directions that we can go in-house” to find a successor to Tyler Jones, the GM of the football program, who is leaving for a promotion at Stanford.
