UVA basketball moves up to #3 in both national polls

uva-basketball newUVA basketball, off to its first 11-0 start since 1992-1993, moved up two spots to #3 in the AP and coaches polls on Monday.

The ‘Hoos had the week off for the holidays after its most recent win, a 76-27 victory over preseason #25 Harvard on Dec. 21.

Kentucky was again a unanimous #1 in the AP poll, and received 30 of the 31 first-place votes in the coaches poll, with #2 Duke getting the other first-place vote.

Virginia is ranked second in the ESPN Basketball Power Index, with UK at #1 and Duke at three. Wisconsin, which is fourth in the AP and coaches polls, is fourth in the BPI.

The KenPom.com ratings have that same order in the top four – Kentucky at 1, Virginia at 2, Duke at 3 and Wisconsin at 4.
