Woolfolk left in the sixth with a 4-2 lead, powered by a two-run homer in the fourth off the bat of shortstop Eric Becker, who was 2-for-5 on the day.
Lefty reliever Matt Lanzendorfer gave up a game-tying two-run shot to BC leadoff man Josiah Ragsdale in the top of the eighth, before being lifted for closer Ryan Osinski.
Osinski (0-2, 3.72 ERA) was tagged for three runs on three hits in the eighth – a tie-breaking two-run single from second baseman Vince Cimini and an RBI single from rightfielder Jack Toomey.
Virginia (8-4, 0-1 ACC) went down in order in the eighth, and didn’t get much going in the ninth – just a two-out single from first baseman Chris Arroyo, who was 3-for-5 on the day with an RBI triple in the third.
