Ninth-ranked Virginia, fresh off a series win at #11 North Carolina, took care of midweek business on Tuesday, getting past William & Mary, 9-7, at Disharoon Park.

Harrison Didawick was 3-for-5 at the plate, and Joe Tiroly and Sam Harris hit solo homers on back-to-back pitches leading off the bottom of the sixth.

Harris was 2-for-3 with a pair of bases on balls, two runs scored and three RBIs on the day.

The winning pitcher on the staff day – first-year coach Chris Pollard used seven pitchers to get the 27 outs – was Lucas Hartman (4-0, 1.31 ERA), who put in two scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out five.

Next up for Virginia (14-3, 2-1 ACC): Virginia Tech (8-7, 1-2 ACC), for a three-game series at The Dish that begins on Friday at 4 p.m.
