Waynesboro High School (WHS) will host its annual Pediatric Cancer Awareness Night during tonight’s home football game against Turner Ashby High School.

The event holds special significance for the WHS community, as some Waynesboro students have personally faced the challenges of childhood cancer.

Macie Sprouse, a junior and cheerleader, and Lane McNorton, a senior football player, both battled leukemia with resilience and strength. Their courage serves as an inspiration to many, and tonight will honor their journeys alongside others who have shown bravery in the fight against cancer.

Spectators are encouraged to wear gold to the 7 p.m. game in support of pediatric cancer awareness.

Donations will be accepted for The Madee Project, a local organization that provides financial support to children who are fighting cancer and their families in Staunton, Waynesboro and Augusta County.

Join Waynesboro Schools tonight for a night of community, compassion and support as we come together to raise awareness, honor young warriors and celebrate their strength. Let’s unite in the fight against pediatric cancer.
