Update: Two shot in incident at Fry’s Spring Beach in Charlottesville

Update: Monday, 3:41 p.m. The investigation into the shooting incident that occurred this weekend in the parking lot of the Fry Springs Beach Club in Charlottesville is ongoing.

At this time, 120 casings from five different caliber firearms have been collected. Of the casings collected, 27 are rifle rounds. One firearm was also collected from the scene.

The Charlottesville PD Forensic Unit is still in the process of collecting additional casings related to this incident.   Several vehicles were towed from the scene for further processing. Two adult male victims sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the shooting.

Update: Monday, 8:24 a.m. The Charlottesville Police Department has been informed that the Fry’s Spring Beach Club was the site of a private event on Saturday where a portion of the funds collected would be donated to a local nonprofit organization called Peace in the Streets.

The investigation into the shooting at the private event is ongoing.  Anyone with information is encouraged to call CrimeStoppers at 434-977-4000.

 

First report: Sunday, 4:04 p.m. Charlottesville Police responded to multiple calls for shots fired at the Fry’s Spring Beach Club at approximately 2:20 a.m. on Sunday.

Two adult males were shot during the incident and sustained non-life threatening injuries. Both are reportedly in stable condition.

Forensic technicians have recovered more than 100 cartridge casings in the vicinity of the Fry’s Spring Beach Club.  The Charlottesville Police Department has been informed that the Fry’s Spring Beach Club was hosting an event for an organization called Peace in the Streets.
