Orioles reliever Bud Norris surrendered a pair of sixth-inning homers, and Minnesota rode the power surge to a 5-3 win over Baltimore on Wednesday, completing a three-game sweep of the O’s.
Norris (2-9) entered the game in the sixth after Orioles starter Ubaldo Jimenez had scattered seven hits in five scoreless innings.
The O’s led 1-0 before Brian Dozier connected on a two-out, two-run homer to give the Twins the 2-1 lead. Joe Mauer hit a solo shot later in the inning to make it 3-1.
An Eric Fryer two-run double in the seventh pushed the lead to 5-1. Chris Davis and Manny Machado each hit solo homers for Baltimore in the eighth to cut the lead to 5-3, but Glen Perkins pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for Minnesota to close out the game and earn his 28th save.
