A driver on Halloween drove onto the Orchard Creek golf course in Waynesboro causing $30,000 to $40,000 in damage to the fairway and green.

The Waynesboro Police Department is asking the public for help identifying the person responsible for the damage.

The property damage occurred late Friday night, likely between 11:30 p.m. and 11:45 p.m.

According to police, a vehicle entered the golf course and drove across holes 10 and 11.

Investigators believe the vehicle exited the area by Hewitt Drive and continued onto Lyndhurst Road, traveling in the direction of Meadowbrook.

Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area, or who may have surveillance footage or information related to this incident, is asked to contact Cpl. Brandon Mawyer at (540) 942-6675.
