Trial date set for Jesse Matthew in Hannah Graham murder

jesse matthewJesse Matthew appeared via video link in Albemarle County Circuit Court on Wednesday on charges of first degree murder and abduction in the September 2014 disappearance and murder of second-year UVA student Hannah Graham.

Circuit Court Judge Cheryl Higgins set the trial date for June 29 through July 17, 2015.  The matter was set for a jury trial at the request of Albemarle County Commonwealth’s Attorney Denise Lunsford.

A grand jury indicted Matthew on the Albemarle County charges on February 2.  Matthew is being returned to jail in Fairfax County to await his trial on charges stemming from a 2005 rape case
