Long-time WCW play-by-play man Tony Schiavone, a native of Augusta County and graduate of Buffalo Gap High School and James Madison University, was at WWE headquarters this week, fueling speculation that he may be in line for a return to TV.
But Schiavone, currently the play-by-play man for the Triple-A Gwinnett Braves baseball team, is trying to tamp down any hints of a return to the ringside announce position.
“Don’t think my voice could take it anymore,” Schiavone tweeted one fan who actually had asked him about interest in a return to wrestling with tna.
Schiavone has broadcast minor-league baseball, pro wrestling and other sports dating back to the late 1970s.
The visit to WWE headquarters is reportedly related to Schiavone taping interviews for an upcoming WCW DVD.
