I am proud to support Sylvia Mathews Burwell’s confirmation to be Secretary of Health and Human Services. She has a strong background not only in the public sector – most recently as the Director of the Office of Management and Budget – but she also has a superb track record in the private sector, which will serve her well in her new post.
As implementation of the Affordable Care Act continues, we have to be about reforms and improvements. Sylvia is a person who walks in to work every day wanting things to be better than they were yesterday, and she has the experience to do this job very well.
Mississippi State, 20th nationally in the regular season in team ERA, gave up double-digits in back-to-back Super Regional losses to Georgia, and Year 1 under Brian O’Connor came to an end without a trip to Omaha.
Nelson Chittum played professional baseball from 1956-1964, pitching in two games with the Boston Red Sox in 1958, and in 27 games with the St. Louis Cardinals the next two seasons.
