The Golden Age: Gas prices up, Dow Jones, jobs down, as Trump dithers

Donald Trump lied a week ago when he said most of the country was paying $2.30 a gallon for gas. Somebody in the inner circle needs to tell him that the average is now $3.32 a gallon.

That’s what GasBuddy has as the average gas price nationwide at this writing on Friday morning – up a staggering 33.5 cents from a week ago, and 41.5 cents from a month ago.

People are going to pay more for gas, amirite?

Oil prices are up 45.8 percent in the past three weeks, sitting at $88.66 per barrel at this writing on Friday morning.

The Dow Jones average, also down rather dramatically – remember Pam Bondi, testifying last month about the Epstein files, trying to get away with, well, who cares about Epstein, the Dow is over 50,000.

It’s at 47,331.97 as I’m writing.

Down 5.55 percent.

By Bondi’s reasoning, we can care about Epstein again.

And I haven’t even mentioned another jobs report showing a net 92,000 job losses last month, the unemployment rate ticking up a tenth of a percentage point, and the labor market shrinking with more people just deciding to not even trying to look for a job.

The Golden Age, most definitely.
