Susan Allen makes campaign stops in Richmond, Hanover

Susan Allen brought the Virginia Voices tour to Hanover County and Richmond as she visited families and small businesses on Wednesday. They shared their ideas and solutions for replacing Washington’s overreaching, over-regulating polices with positive solutions that will promote growth, hiring and innovation.

Susan began her day in Hanover visiting Thrill of the Hunt, a small business in Ashland, where she met with the owners and other local business leaders and families.  Established in November 2011 by Dana and Cathy Wood, Thrill of the Hunt specializes in upcycled furniture, art, collectibles and vintage finds.

“In these tough times, Cathy and I have been fortunate since we opened Thrill of the Hunt’s doors, but not all small businesses in Virginia have been as lucky as we have,” said Dana Wood. “While many businesses are forced to close and families are struggling to make ends meet, Washington’s endless red tape is making simple business transactions more difficult. To get Virginians back in business, we need the government to give business owners room for growth and innovation. I know George Allen has a proven, positive record, and he is the Senator we need to bring responsible governance to Washington and to fix our broken economy.”

After she visited Thrill of the Hunt, Allen delivered the keynote address at Radio One’s Client Appreciation Lunch in Richmond. In the afternoon, she will participate in a Main Street Tour of the Libbie and Grove neighborhood, beginning at Renmark Consignment Shop.

“As George and I have traveled throughout Virginia on the Virginia Voices campaign, we have seen both inspiration and families and businesses struggling,” said Allen. “Virginians are hard-working and persevere in difficult times, but the government’s overbearing regulations are hurting Virginians as they work to build their own businesses, start new careers and provide for their families. George and I believe in Virginia’s entrepreneurs, innovators and business leaders. They have the creativity, talent and will power it takes to overcome economic obstacles. But one obstacle they shouldn’t have to overcome is the federal government. As Senator, George will be a voice for Virginians and will fight to give them the policies and opportunities they need to get America back-in-business.”
