StubHub becomes official secondary ticket provider for UVA athletics

stubhubVirginia athletics announced StubHub, the world’s largest ticket marketplace, is now the official fan-to-fan secondary ticket marketplace for Cavalier fans and replaces the Virginia Ticket Marketplace. Through StubHub’s partnership with Spectra Ticketing & Fan Engagement (formerly Paciolan), the ticketing software solution used by UVa athletics, fans will have access to a more complete ticket buying experience.

The partnership between Virginia athletics and StubHub will provide links between UVa’s official ticketing site on VirginiaSports.com and StubHub’s site. StubHub will provide Cavalier fans with a safe, guaranteed platform for fans to buy and sell tickets, backed by StubHub’s 100-percent money-back FanProtect guarantee, in which each ticket transaction will be between fans on StubHub.com.

In addition, the partnership between StubHub and Spectra Ticketing & Fan Engagement enables barcode integration for ticket holders to seamlessly resell or transfer tickets digitally through StubHub, providing tickets that can be digitally delivered straight to the buyer. Fans also have the ability to access print-at-home tickets, streamlined listings to sell unused tickets and mobile fulfillment via Apple Passbook.

“We’re pleased to announce this partnership with StubHub,” said Todd Goodale, Virginia’s senior associate athletics director for external affairs. “This partnership will enable our fans to easily re-sell and transfer tickets as well as better understand all of the available ticket options for our events.”

With the addition of Virginia, StubHub is now the secondary ticketing partner for 35 intercollegiate athletics departments nationwide, including ACC members Clemson, Florida State, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech.

“We are thrilled to further our partnership with the University of Virginia and provide Cavalier fans with a seamless experience when they buy and resell tickets through our partnership integration with StubHub,” said Dave Butler, President and CEO of Spectra Ticketing & Fan Engagement. “With the excitement around Virginia athletics, our partnership with StubHub provides a convenient way for fans to purchase fantastic seats in a safe and secure environment.”
