The Drama and Choral Departments of Stuarts Draft High School present Les Misérables March 14 through March 17, 2013. This classic production sweeps its audience through an epic tale of passion and destruction in 19th century France.
Les Misérables is the world’s longest-running musical, seen by over 60 million people in 42 countries, and is now a record-breaking Oscar winning movie starring Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman. This production features several members of the SDHS State winning One-Act Play cast, as well as many other familiar faces both on stage and behind the scenes. The SDHS Drama Program’s biggest and most ambitious production ever, Les Misérables is an inspiring musical that showcases the power of faith, hope and, love. Discover a nation in the grip of revolution, where convict Jean Valjean is on the run. Hunted relentlessly by the policeman Javert for breaking his parole, he must leave his past behind and keep his vow to raise the young orphaned Cosette. But with revolution in the air and Javert closing in, Jean Valjean has no choice but to fight for his life and sacrifice everything to protect the people he loves. An inspring and uplifting story that teaches the lesson “To love another person is to see the face of God.”
Starring Shane Siebken as Jean Valjean, Dylan Yancey as Javert, Chris Knecht as Marius Pontmercy, Austin Boyette as Enjolras, Jacob Moyer as Thenardier, and Carter Bussey as Gavroche. Also starring Alex Steege as Fantine, Dorothy Hershey as Cosette, Leah Kasmark as Madame Thenardier, Alexandra Bern as Eponine, and Savannah McCarthy as Young Cosette.
