Film Screening: “Decoding the Weather Machine” by NOVA

When:  2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 2
Where:  Staunton Public Library, second floor large meeting room, 1 Churchville Ave.
Admission:  Free
Details:  In the past year, the nation has experienced some extreme weather events. Many scientists agree that it’s the result of the weather machine itself—our climate—changing, becoming hotter and more erratic. In this two-hour documentary, NOVA will cut through the confusion around climate change.

Speaker Les Grady, Ph.D. : “Climate Change: Issues and Actions”

When:  7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 4
Where:  Staunton Public Library, second floor large meeting room, 1 Churchville Ave.
Admission:  Free
Details: Les Grady is a former environmental engineering professor at Clemson University in South Carolina. Since his retirement in 2003, he has devoted much of his time to the study of climate science and the question of global warming. Grady’s primary message is that climate change is a shared threat that represents the most difficult challenge ever faced by humankind, and its solution will require the best ideas available from all of us, regardless of political persuasion.
