Emergency pothole repairs will close the right lane of Interstate 81 southbound near Staunton through tomorrow morning.

The Virginia Department of Transportation said the repairs are needed at mile marker 222.5 on the I-81 bridge over Augusta Woods Drive.

The right lane will be closed at this location from 6 p.m. today through the early morning hours of Thursday.

In addition, the on-ramp from Route 250 onto I-81 southbound at exit 222 will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

All I-81 lanes and the on-ramp from Route 250 are expected to reopen by 8 a.m. on July 3.

All work is weather permitting.
