Spirituality the focus at EMU next week

Jane Hoober Peifer, pastor at Blossom Hill Mennonite Church, Lancaster, Pa., will be guest speaker for spiritual life week Tuesday through Thursday, Sept. 25-27, at Eastern Mennonite Seminary.
She will focus on “cultivating faith in strange places.”
“When God calls us to go beyond home” is the theme for Tuesday’s presentation, 9:30-10:15 a.m. in Martin Chapel of the seminary building.
From 11-11:45 a.m. Wednesday, Peifer will speak on “When faith and life collide,” also in Martin Chapel. She will lead a retreat session 1:30-3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Thursday’s chapel service is titled “When Jesus calls us to go beyond convention.” It will be held 9:30-10:15 a.m. in Martin Chapel.
Peifer, a 1997 EMS graduate, has been a pastor for 16 years.
She recently completed eight years of service on the executive board of Mennonite Church USA and currently serves on the Mennonite Central Committee bi-national board. She has also written five children’s books.
The seminary chapels are open to the public.
