Santa’s elves will be delivering some extra holiday cheer to local families just in time for a little Christmas magic.
The Rockingham-Harrisonburg SPCA will offer holiday pet deliveries for adopted shelter pets between Dec. 16-23. Adopters may opt to have their new furry four-legged pal delivered directly to their home on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
“Our Home for the Holidays program is a joyful tradition that brings pets and families together in a memorable and meaningful way,” said Madison Spiess, development associate at the Rockingham-Harrisonburg SPCA, who organizes the event with PCB.
“Every adoption gives an animal a second chance, and this event adds a touch of magic to the experience.”
Adoptions must be completed in person at the RHSPCA, located at 2170 Old Furnace Rd, in Harrisonburg.
To participate in the delivery program, adopters must live within 30 minutes of the shelter. A delivery fee of $25 supports the RHSPCA’s ongoing efforts to care for homeless animals.
Community members are encouraged to visit the shelter early in the adoption window to secure their holiday delivery, as spaces are limited.
