Courtney Lane was stellar in four and a third innings of scoreless relief, and the UVA offense put up double-digits in a 10-2 run-rule win over Coastal Carolina on Sunday at the Kickin’ Chicken Classic.

The ‘Hoos (4-1) put up a five-spot in the first, highlighted by a pair of two-run singles, from Macee Eaton and Jaiden Griffith.

An Eaton RBI single in the fourth preceded a four-run fifth, with a leadoff homer from Alex Call, a two-run double from Jade Hylton and a sac-fly RBI from Kassidy Hudson.

Lane struck out seven and walked two through 4.1 scoreless innings of work. She did not give up a hit in her time in the circle.

Layne entered in relief of starter Taylor Smith.
