Shenandoah University to host eighth annual business symposium

The Harry F. Byrd, Jr. School of Business at Shenandoah University will host its eighth annual Business Symposium on Friday, April 1, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Halpin-Harrison Hall on the campus of Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia, for members of the local and regional business communities, as well as students of the university.

“The New Reality: Meeting The Challenge” is the theme of this year’s symposium. The theme reflects the reality that our business, technological and social environment is changing rapidly and that understanding these changes is the first step towards adapting to and ultimately succeeding in the evolving economy.

“This event has grown to become the area’s largest business symposium because we provide a tremendous amount of learning and inspiration to the business community at a very reasonable cost,” said Miles Davis, Ph.D., dean of the Harry F. Byrd, Jr. School of Business.

Now in its eighth year, the Business Symposium has increased in attendance every year, garnered prominent keynote speakers, and hosted a sellout crowd in 2015.

The 2016 keynote speakers are Patrick Jephson and William Beaman of JephsonBeaman, an internationally recognized brand and reputation management company based in Washington, D.C. and London. They are experts in critical aspects of brand and reputation management, with experience advising clients ranging from individuals to corporations, not-for-profits, and political parties. Their clients include the royal households in Europe and Asia, Ferrari, Harrods, PBS and many others.

In addition to a world-class keynote address, attendees can choose from multiple breakout and networking sessions covering a wide range of business topics to educate, inspire and provide tactical tips and tools to use right now. There are many networking opportunities and registration includes refreshments, a gourmet lunch, a wine and cheese reception and door prizes.
