Shenandoah Jamboree salutes Johnny Cash

tommy cashThe Shenandoah Jamboree concert series returns to the Wayne Theatre/Ross Performing Arts Center on Saturday, May 7, at 7 p.m.

Tommy Cash, younger brother of Johnny Cash, will present “A Salute to Johnny Cash.” Cash delivers a family-oriented show with songs from more than 20 albums. He’ll perform a musical tribute to his brother. He brings engaging conversation, wit and charm to his performances. He’s entertained at the Grand Old Opry, Branson Theaters, American Military Bases, Las Vegas and more.

Tickets are $25 and $35.

“We are really looking forward to hosting the Shenandoah Jamboree again this month,” said Tracy Straight, executive director. “The last show was almost a sellout, and with so many Johnny Cash fans in the area, we expect a great turnout again.”

The family-friendly Shenandoah Jamboree concert series, featuring host Lisa Meadows, is held on the first Saturday of each month. Buses are brought in from Shenandoah County for the Jamboree.

“We hope that fans of the Jamboree are enjoying the new venue in Waynesboro,” said Straight. “Our downtown restaurants and businesses always benefit from the crowds that attend our performances.”

Local favorites The Hatcher Boys will also join the May show.

Tickets are available at the Wayne Theatre box office at 521 West Main Street  Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and one hour before all performances. Tickets are also available online up to three hours before a performance at www.WayneTheatre.org
