Seattle cools off hot Baltimore in 5-3 win

baltimore oriolesTaijuan Walker and three Seattle relievers cooled down the hot Baltimore bats in a 5-3 Mariners win Thursday night.

Walker (4-6, 3.29 ERA, 1.12 WHIP) gave up a run on four hits in six and a third innings, striking out five without issuing a walk.

He outdueled O’s ace Chris Tillman (10-2, 3.71 ERA, 1.25 WHIP), who was knocked in the fifth, and was charged with four runs on six hits in four and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking three on 112 pitches.

Hyun-Soon Kim (.344/.433/.484, 3 HR, 11 RBI) hit a solo homer in the seventh and an RBI single in the eighth as Baltimore (47-31) mounted a late rally.

Manny Machado (.334/.392/.609, 18 HR, 50 RBI) also had an RBI single in the eighth.
