Scoreless streak continues for Waynesboro in 7-0 loss at Turks

wlogo2Justin Camp once again dominated Waynesboro, throwing seven scoreless innings to lead Harrisonburg to an easy 7-0 win Saturday night.

The Generals have suffered back-to-back shutout losses on the road and have gone 21 innings since their last run, in the seventh inning of an 11-10 extra-inning loss in Staunton on Thursday.

The loss puts the Generals a season-high four games under .500 and a season-high six and a half games out of first place in the South Division at the midway point of the 2013 Valley League season.

Camp (4-0) was a key reason, getting his second win in three starts against Waynesboro. The Auburn righthander has given up four earned runs in 20 innings against the Generals in 2013, and he continued his mastery Saturday, giving up five hits and walking one while recording four strikeouts.

Thomas Woodrey (freshman, Miami) took the loss for Waynesboro, giving up six runs, three earned, on seven hits in four and two-thirds innings to fall to 1-1 on the season.

Waynesboro returns home Sunday to host Rockbridge in the WSVA Waynesboro Generals Game of the Week. First pitch is at 7 p.m. The pregame show with host Chris Graham begins at 6:30 p.m.
