A Bryce Harper three-run homer in the first got things going, and a two-run Ryan Zimmerman broke things open in the seventh inning, and the Washington Nationals made it two straight over the Philadelphia Phillies with a 7-2 win on Friday.

Max Scherzer picked up his first win as a Nat, going eight innings, allowing a run on four hits with nine strikeouts and no walks, lowering his ERA through three starts to 0.83.

Harper’s homer was his third of the season. Danny Espinosa hit his second homer of the season, a solo shot in the fourth.

After scoring 13 runs in six games in the first week of 2015, the Nats have scored 33 runs over five games in week two, 22 in the last three, all wins.
