state-fairFairgoers will save on State Fair of Virginia tickets—and spend less time in line—when they buy advance tickets online at StateFairVa.org.
Advance-price online ticket sales will run through Sept. 22. Regular-price fair tickets can be purchased online Sept. 23 through Oct. 2. Starting Aug. 26, advance tickets also will be available at participating Walgreens locations in Virginia.

“We know many families plan their visits to the State Fair in advance, and the special pricing on advance tickets is a way they can save money while planning their trip,” said Marlene Pierson-Jolliffe, the fair’s executive director. “Advance tickets also will save valuable time, because this year we will have a new express lane for those who have advance tickets.”

Fairgoers can show their advance tickets on a mobile device in the express lane or present print-at-home tickets.

Advance tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for youth 5-12 and seniors 60 and older. They can be used any day during the fair. Children 4 and younger will be admitted free.

Season passes are available online for $40 through Sept. 20.

Want to save more time? Buy a combo ticket—good Saturdays and Sundays—and you’ll receive prime parking to start enjoying the fair earlier. A limited number of combo tickets will be sold for $25 in advance only and will include one adult admission and an up-close parking spot near Harvest Landing. Other vehicle occupants must have advance admission tickets as well.

Rides are not included in fair admission, but ticket-buyers can save $5 online on advance-purchase vouchers for Unlimited Ride Wristbands. Advance wristbands are $20.

Guests interested in touring the stately Meadow Hall mansion in Harvest Landing can do so for $5 this year. Advance tickets are available for noon, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. tours on Sept. 24, Sept. 25, Oct. 1 and Oct. 2. Tour tickets also will be sold during the fair at the Secretariat booth near Meadow Hall.

Discount-priced military admission—$11—will be available at the fair’s Ticket Plaza for active-duty service members and retirees with current military ID. The discount does not apply to others in service members’ and retirees’ parties.
