SaraJane McDonald Debuts on May Radio Hour

SaraJane McDonald 1The very talented young country singer SaraJane McDonald will make her River City Radio Hour debut in May.  She will combine her talents with the Boogie Kings and Marsha Howard to provide a fast-paced and entertaining hour at WTA’s Gateway on Friday, May 17.  The one-hour performances are at 6:30 and 8:00.

SaraJane McDonald is a young singer/songwriter with a passion for Country Music. A native of Rockbridge County, she lives a hectic home life on her family’s turkey and beef farm. When she is not tending to farm duties, SaraJane stays busy writing music and performing at various venues, festivals, sporting events and for civic organizations throughout Rockbridge County.  SaraJane placed 2nd in the 2012 Voice of the Valley Competition and with her winnings she has been in the recording studio working on her first cd project, “The Girl with the Yellow Guitar”. Because she is eager to branch out and share her music further into the Valley she agreed to take the Radio Hour stage.

Marsha Howard on the other hand is anything but a newcomer to the Radio Hour.  Clair Myers, producer for the Radio Hour says, “She was the first person I recruited.  She is a wicked comedian.”  Myers and Howard had a bit of a competition at the last Radio Hour and rumor has it there will be more in coming months.

This month will also be a departure for the Radio Hour drama.  Instead of a mystery with multi-installments, the Radio Hour will close out its sixth season with dramas complete each month.  In May, Edgar Allan Poe’s The Tell Tale Heart will draw upon the talents of the Radio Hour’s Foley Team.

Advance tickets for the River City Radio Hour are $10 and are available online (www.wtagateway.com) or by calling the box office (540-943-9999).  Remaining tickets will be available on the evening of the performances for $12.
