Robert Hurt cosponsors House legislation disapproving Iran nuclear agreement

Chris Graham

Robert_HurtCongressman Robert Hurt (R-Virginia) recently cosponsored H. Res 367, which expresses the House of Representatives’ disapproval of the nuclear agreement the Obama Administration recently announced with Iran.

Speaking about the legislation, Congressman Hurt said:

“I have reviewed the Iran Nuclear Agreement and have attended classified briefings with Secretary Kerry and other Administration officials on the subject, and I have concluded that this agreement does not meet the national security needs of our nation or of our allies.  This nuclear agreement allows the Iranian regime to maintain much of its current nuclear infrastructure; to continue to advance its nuclear ambitions; and to facilitate its ability to promote terror across the world.  Given the grave consequences of this nuclear agreement, I have joined as a cosponsor of Congressman Roskam’s Disapproval Resolution.  As Congress considers this deal pursuant to the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act, I remain committed to working with my colleagues to enhance the necessary sanctions against the Iranian regime and to do everything within our power to prevent Iran from building or acquiring a nuclear bomb.”
