Roark pitches gem in 9-1 Washington Nationals win

washington nationalsTanner Roark makes for a pretty solid #3 starter for the Washington Nationals. Roark (13-6, 2.81 ERA, 1.17 ERA) gave up a run on five hits in seven innings in a 9-1 Nats win over the Atlanta Braves on Sunday.

The win gives Washington (69-47) a series win over the Braves (44-74). The Nationals have an eight and a half game lead on Miami (61-56) in the NL East.

Chris Heisey (.206/.295/.421, 6 HR, 10 RBI) and Anthony Rendon (.266/.349/.451, 15 HR, 54 RBI) each homered.

Bryce Harper (.234/.375/.440, 20 HR, 58 RBI) was 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and two runs scored in his first game back after missing five games due to a stiff neck.

Rookie Trea Turner (.319/.347/.540, 3 HR, 14 RBI) was 2-for-5 with two runs scored.
