A tractor trailer overturned early this morning on southbound Interstate 95 in Richmond, according to Virginia State Police.

The accident occurred on I-95 near exit 74C at 2:30 a.m. VSP troopers arrived to find the tractor trailer on its side.

Clean-up efforts and lane closures remain in effect.

According to police, the driver, 33-year-old Savanna Purdue of North Carolina, was traveling in the left lane en route back to N.C. when the load she was hauling shifted causing the tractor trailer to overturn.

She was not injured in the single-vehicle accident.

Purdue has been charged with reckless driving and improper passing.

The crash is under investigation.
