Richmond Police: Motorcyclist reportedly operating recklessly before fatal crash

Richmond Police have identified the motorcyclist involved in the fatal collision on West Broad Street on Saturday as Wesley Shook, 25, of Bumpass.

According to police, Shook was located down and injured at the intersection of West Broad Street and North Hamilton Streets at 10:15 p.m.

Shook was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

The RPD Crash Team responded and has determined that Shook was operating the motorcycle eastbound on West Broad Street when he collided with a sedan that was turning through the intersection.

Initial information provided to investigators indicated the motorcycle was being operated in a reckless manner prior to the crash.

At this time no charges have been filed.
