Richmond Police identify man killed in crosswalk on West Leigh Street

Richmond Police have identified the pedestrian who was killed by a dump truck on West Leigh Street on Tuesday.

According to police, Donald Jaciuk, 64, of Richmond, was crossing West Leigh Street northbound in the crosswalk with a walk signal at 1:43 p.m. when the driver of a dump truck turned left from North Harrison Street onto West Leigh Street eastbound, striking him.

The driver of the truck, an adult male, remained at the scene.

At this time, charges have not yet been placed. The investigation continues.
