Richard Crozier was born in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1944, and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Washington, Seattle in 1968.   He has taught drawing and painting at the University of Virginia since receiving his Master of Fine Arts Degree from the University of California,Davis, in 1974.

Crozier is a practicing landscape painter who works in oils both on-site and in the studio.  His paintings are largely concerned with the process of change in the built landscape in and around Charlottesville.  He is represented by Tatistcheff Gallery in New York, Reynolds Gallery in Richmond, and the Charlotte Cody Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  His work is in numerous public and private collections, and has been included in exhibitions around the country.
