Richard Adams’ Friday the 13th Spectacular

Contributors

The Richard Adams Variety Show for April lands on Friday the 13th and to keep the evil eye away, Adams has put together spectacular entertainment.  Heading the show is Bert Carlson and Ray Cohen.  They are joined by Blues musician Lisa Miller and the cast of musical City of Angels.  Completing the spectacular will be the dueling Colggers.

Ray Cohen is known for his wailing blues harmonica.  He has lived and played music in the Valley most of his life, performing with a variety of area blues/rock bands including The Rainmakers and Loose Change.  He was last seen at WTA’s Gateway as part of Fatty Lumpkin and the Love Hogs.

A professional guitarist since 1976, Bert Carlson has played in a wide variety of styles and venues.  After nearly fifteen years in the DC area, Carlson moved to the Shenandoah Valley and shifted his attention to blues and jazz. In 2003, The Bert Carlson Jennifer Kirkland Duo began their successful collaboration.  The duo is on the Virginia Commission for the Arts’ elite touring roster.

The Waynesboro Players’ spring musical is the award-winning City of Angels with music by Cy Coleman and lyrics by David Zippel.  The 1989 musical takes place in the 40s Hollywood.  It combines a vintage Hollywood comedy and a detective drama.  The Players production is April 19-22.

Hosting the evening will be Richard Adams with his side-kick Bill Martin who is running for President on the Coffee Tickets.  They will reveal plans for the one-day-only, Presidential Campaign Event in Dooms, Virginia.

Reserved tickets for the Richard Adams Variety Show are $9.99 and are available online at www.wtagateway.com or by calling 540-943-9999.  Remaining tickets will be available at the box office on the night of performances.
