Redskins sign nose tackle Robert Thomas to active roster

redskins_scriptrThe Washington Redskins announced today that they have signed nose tackle Robert Thomas to the team’s active roster from its practice squad.

Thomas (6-3, 325) originally signed with the Redskins as a college free agent on May 14, 2014. He was waived by the team on Aug. 29, 2014, before signing to the team’s practice squad two days later.

Thomas appeared in 31 career games at Arkansas from 2011-13 after transferring from Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College. He made 72 career tackles (30 solo) as a Razorback and added six career sacks.

Thomas, 23, attended Muskogee (Okla.) H.S., where he earned District 6A-3 lineman of the year honors from the district’s coaches. He was born on Feb. 18, 1991.
