potomac nationalsThe Potomac Nationals have announced the contract of team Clubhouse Manager,Jeremy Delewski has been purchased by the Syracuse Chiefs, the Washington Nationals’ Triple-A International League affiliate.

According to Syracuse Chiefs officials, Delewski’s promotion from the Class-A Advanced Potomac Nationals to Washington’s Triple-A club was finalized in San Diego, CA during the 2014 Major League Baseball Winter Meetings.

Syracuse Chiefs Assistant General Manager, Jason Horbal said of Delewski’s assignment, “We are happy to have Jeremy with us for the 2015 season and we look forward to him being a part of the Syracuse Chiefs’ team success.”

Delewski, 30, will occupy an office in Syracuse, NY located in the Home Clubhouse at NBT Bank Stadium and will operate in the same role as Home Clubhouse Manager in which he will continue his service to Washington Nationals’ farmhands, coaches, and trainers.

Following confirmation of his promotion, Delewski was reached for comment in his home state of Ohio saying, “I’m very excited about this opportunity with [the Syracuse Chiefs] and I’m ready to get the 2015 season going.”

“The best thing about [this promotion] is reuniting with players who came through Potomac over the last five years. This is just like getting a band back together,” said Delewski.

Delewski’s duties will include but are not limited to: laundry and repair of on-field gear, equipment management, catering, clubhouse cleaning, preparing for team travel, mail service coordination, clubhouse security and maintenance in addition to requests from Syracuse Chiefs players and members of the coaching and training staffs.

The former P-Nats “clubbie” was with the Washington Nationals’ Carolina League affiliate since the 2010 season and helped facilitate Mills Cup Championship campaigns in his first and last seasons with Potomac amid his five-year tenure.

During his time at Pfitzner Stadium, Delewski assisted with hosting notable Major League rehabilitation appearances from current Washington Nationals including RHP Doug Fister, LHP Gio Gonzalez, OF Bryce Harper, C Wilson Ramos, RHP Drew Storen, RHP Stephen Strasburg, IF/OF Ryan Zimmerman, and RHP Jordan Zimmermann.

The professional baseball veteran also took care of a bevy of Washington’s prospects during their ascent to the Major League level such as Big Leaguers, RHP Aaron Barrett, OF Billy Burns, RHP Taylor Hill, RHP Taylor Jordan, IF Jeff Kobernus, IF Steve Lombardozzi, C Adrian Nieto, IF Anthony Rendon, OF Steven Souza Jr., and OF Michael Taylor.

On Delewski’s appointment, Potomac Nationals Vice President/General Manager, Josh Olerud said, “Jeremy has been an important part of our successes in Potomac and I can’t think of a more deserving guy to fill the clubhouse role with Syracuse. Jeremy will be missed here, but we couldn’t be happier for him and his opportunity with the Chiefs.”

Delewski was born and raised in Sullivan, OH and will begin his 10th season in pro baseball as a clubhouse manager in 2015. His past job posts include stops with the Louisville Bats (Triple-A, Cincinnati Reds), the Columbus Clippers (Triple-A, Cleveland Indians), and Detroit Tigers’ Spring Training (Lakeland, FL). The career clubhouse supervisor has also been a mainstay at Washington Nationals’ Spring Training (Viera, FL) during his time with Potomac.
