Pothole patching on Interstate 64 on Wednesday

Chris Graham

interstate 64On Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., crews will patch potholes on Interstate 64 in both directions from mile marker 99 on Afton Mountain to mile marker 143 (Route 208 exit) in Louisa County.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the mobile work zone. Motorists should be alert for slow-moving vehicles and may experience minor delays approaching the work zone.

National Work Zone Awareness Week is April 11 to 15 and is an annual effort to raise awareness for safe driving in work zones. All motorists are encouraged to support VDOT’s workers every day by minimizing distractions and driving cautiously through work zones. More information about the campaign and planned events is available on VDOT’s website at www.virginiadot.org/programs/prog-wzsa-default.asp.

Updates and other real-time travel information can be found on the 511 Virginia website, the free VDOT 511 mobile app or by calling 511 from any phone in Virginia. Planned lane closures related to maintenance and construction activities in VDOT’s Culpeper District are published weekly and made available on the regionalTraffic Alerts Web page. Local updates are also posted to Twitter.com/VaDOTCulp.
