Poets Lisa Russ Spaar, George David Clark to read at New Dominion Bookshop on August 17

New Dominion BookshopNew Dominion Bookshop (404 E Main St., Charlottesville) will host a book reading and signing with UVA professor Lisa Russ Spaar and UVA alum George David Clark on Friday, August 17, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

This event is free to attend. Refreshments will be provided.

Lisa Russ Spaar is the author of over ten books, including Monticello in Mind: 50 Contemporary Poets on Jefferson (UVA Press, 2016), Orexia: Poems (Persea, 2017), and the forthcoming anthology “more truly and more strange”: Contemporary American Self-Portrait Poems (Persea, 2019). Her honors include a Rona Jaffe Award, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and a Pushcart Prize. Her essays and reviews have appeared in The New York TimesThe Chronicle of Higher EducationThe Washington PostThe Los Angeles Review of Books, and elsewhere. She is a professor of English and creative writing at the University of Virginia.

George David Clark’s first book, Reveille, won the 2015 Miller Williams Prize and his new work can be found in AgniThe Georgia ReviewThe Gettysburg ReviewThe Hopkins ReviewThe Southern Review, and elsewhere. An assistant professor of English at Washington & Jefferson College, David edits 32 Poems and lives with his wife and their four young children in Washington, Pennsylvania. More information is available at georgedavidclark.com.
