Pipeline activists promote alternatives at Staunton town hall

staunton virginiaA town hall event Wednesday in Staunton will discuss clean-energy alternatives to the controversial gas pipelines being pushed on the state by Dominion Energy and others.

The event, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, is called “From Pipelines to Progress: Virginia Unites for Jobs, Clean Energy, and Social Justice.” Its goal is to educate community members about the growing grassroots movement to have Virginia join the Regional Greenhouse Initiative.

Speakers will include Staunton City Councilmember Erik Curren and a variety of other speakers.
