Perriello on the job

Contributors

It’s official – Tom Perriello is a member of Congress.
Perriello took the oath of office during an opening ceremony in the House chamber of the United States Capitol Tuesday afternoon. Perriello also picked up a plum committee assignment – to the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, which has jurisdiction over waterways, bridges, roads and other public works.

“We are off and running with a huge victory out of the gate — being named to a coveted position on the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee — that will help us not only serve the district but address some of the urgent needs of our fragile economy,” Perriello said today.

“As pledged, I will be working a double shift to bring jobs and economic revival to the district and this committee reflects my priorities. As I take the oath today and officially begin my duties serving and representing the people of the Fifth District, I am humbled and honored,” Perriello said.
